At Goldsboro Pediatrics, P.A. and all our regional offices, we want you to have a pleasant experience during your visit. Our goal is to meet your child’s medical needs and to assure your comfort with the level of care at our office. We have established the following office policies:

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your appointment, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. While last-minute cancellations may occasionally happen, we ask you to make every effort to cancel early. If you cannot come to your appointment, let us know.

Weekend clinic and urgent care: In case of emergency, call 911.

Weekend and holiday hours are for children with emergencies or serious illnesses. Staff is limited during these hours. We cannot see children for well visits or for chronic medical problems. Please schedule these visits during our regular hours.

To speak with an on-call provider after office hours, always call the Goldsboro office at (919) 734-4736. If the office is closed, a recorded message will assist you in reaching an on-call provider. For life-threatening emergencies, call 911.

If you feel your child needs to go to the emergency department at Wayne Memorial Hospital, the on-call provider can advice you.

Your provider:

We encourage our patients to see their regular provider for well-baby care. When your child is sick and needs an urgent or walk-in appointment, you will see the first available provider. Your regular provider may not see sick children on the day of your visit. We will try to accommodate your request to see your regular provider, however. Because our offices are nearby, you may be seen by your regular provider at any location.

Emergency Department care:

When your child becomes a patient of the Emergency Department, it may take several hours to receive care depending on the severity of illness. We will do our best to advise before you take your child to the emergency room.

Prescription refills:

Except for emergencies, please allow at least 48 hours for prescription refills. Most will be filled the same day the request is made.

Billing and payments:

Please be ready to make your co-payment on the day of your visit.

HIPAA:

Under the federal law known as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), your personal medical and health information is protected. You can have access to it at any time. We cannot share your information with anyone, including a family member, without your permission. We also need your permission to share your information with other providers and with your insurance company. The federal Privacy Rule applies to all forms of your protected health information, whether electronic, written, or oral. The Security Rule requires us to keep your health information secure in electronic form.
