Cut off day for physicals and immunization for upcoming school year

School policy is that a students entering kindergarten, entering the 7th grade and/or turning age 12, must be up to date on their vaccinations. Below are the guidelines for the Wayne County School system. If your child needs a physical and immunization for school or sports, please call us now to schedule an appointment. late August and September are extremely busy times for physicals, so come in now and avoid the rush.

2016-2017 Wayne County School policy on required immunization.

For students entering Kindergarten during the 2016-17 school year, the 30 day deadline will be September 30, 2016. Students not having the required health assessment and/or immunizations will not be able to attend school after September 30, 2016 until such time that the mandate is met. This deadline does reflect staggered entry.

For students 12 years of age or entering the 7th grade (whichever is first) starting school on the first day, the 30 day deadline for Tdap and Meningitis immunizations will be September 27, 2016. Students not having the required immunizations and documentation will not be able to attend school after September 27, 2016 until such time that the mandate is met.

The schools will not allow students to attend after the deadline if they have not received the proper immunizations, no exceptions.
